Bibi's Hideaway - Matei

Bibi's Hideaway Slice of paradise on 5 acres of gardens Honeymoon bure
Self-contained bure (cottage) Comfortable and clean Interior Family bure (cottage)

Bibi's Hideaway offers one of the most popular, value priced accommodation facilities in Taveuni.

Located in Matei along the beautiful coastal road, Bibi's offers a slice of heaven and paradise, Taveuni style. It has six bures (cottages) offering a wide range of well-priced facilities from family through to honeymoon.

Bibi's is a locally run, family operation. Your hosts Jim and Patrick Bibi, are charming, hospitable and will attend to all your needs.

There are plenty of local plants and flowers growing in the five acres of lush tropical gardens, with an abundance of tropical fruits, including pineapple, paw-paw (papaya), mango, bananas and coconut, amongst others, which are all available for use by guests (for free).

All bures are self-contained or meals can be provided for by your hosts, if required.

Bibi's is well located, close to all the major dive operators and beach access is only a five minute walk.

Bibi's is also on the bus route from Vuna to Bouma, so sight-seeing by the bus is very accessable, as is a trip to Tavoro falls located at Bouma National Park

Here is what Rob Kay (www.fijiguide.com) had to say about Bibi's:

The best backpacker haunt is Bibi's Hideaway which has been a Taveuni institution for years.  It's gone upmarket a bit with new bures that are several cuts above the funky. Located on expansive grounds (near a beach) it is loaded with fruit trees of every description that are offered to guests free of charge.  The owner, James (aka Jim) has been running the operation for years and is a kind and thoughtful man.  Daily rates begin at F$100 to F$120 for a bare bones family home with two bedrooms and kitchen.  For upmarket backpackers it's a great bargain.
